SecureCloud ("we," "our," or "the App") is a multi-cloud management utility. This policy governs how our application accesses, uses, and stores data from third-party cloud service providers, including but not limited to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, Box, MEGA, pCloud, Yandex Disk, and Proton Drive.
Zero-Knowledge Commitment: SecureCloud is designed so that all encryption and decryption occur locally on your device. We never see your unencrypted files or your encryption keys.
1. Cloud Data Access & Scopes
To provide a seamless virtual drive experience, we request the following permissions from your cloud providers:
Read/Write Access to Files: To sync, backup, and encrypt your documents.
Metadata Access: To display file structures, sizes, and timestamps within the App.
Account Profile: To identify your account and monitor storage quotas.
2. Local Device Permissions (Android)
To ensure smooth operation on mobile devices, SecureCloud requests specific local permissions:
Background Execution: We require background processing to maintain secure connections and sync your files without interruption while the app is minimized.
Notifications: We use notifications strictly to inform you about sync statuses, ongoing background operations, and critical alerts. We never use notifications for advertising or tracking.
All Files Access (Storage): To function as a comprehensive file synchronization and encryption tool, SecureCloud requires the "Manage External Storage" permission on Android 11 and above. This allows the App to discover, encrypt, decrypt, and backup files across your entire device storage based on your configured sync tasks. We do not access or index files outside of your specified sync directories.
Unrestricted Battery Usage: To ensure large file transfers and background synchronization processes complete successfully without being terminated by the device's operating system, we may request permission to bypass standard battery optimizations.
3. Use of Google User Data
Specifically for Google Drive users: SecureCloud's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Analytics & Local Logging
No Telemetry or Analytics: We do not collect any crash data, telemetry, or usage statistics. Your interaction with the app remains completely private.
Local Logging: To assist with troubleshooting, SecureCloud generates technical log files. These logs are stored strictly on your local device and are never automatically transmitted to us or any third party. You maintain full control over these files and may choose to share them with us manually for support purposes.
5. Data Storage & Security
No Cloud Storage on Our End: We do not operate servers that store your cloud files. Your data moves directly between your device and the cloud provider.
Local Credentials: Authentication tokens are stored securely on your local machine using system-level encryption.
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell or share any user data with advertisers or third-party brokers.
6. Revoking Access
You may disconnect SecureCloud at any time by visiting the security settings of your respective cloud provider (e.g., Google Security Checkup or Dropbox Connected Apps). Revoking access immediately terminates our ability to interact with your data.
7. Children's Privacy
SecureCloud is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take steps to remove such information.
